Dr. Sean Sanders

Sean is a career science communicator who ensures that the science in our videos is rigorous and also comprehensible to a lay audience.

Sean earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and his Ph.D. from Cambridge University. After completing postdoctoral training at the National Institutes of Health and Georgetown University, Sean joined TranXenoGen, a biotechnology startup  in Massachusetts focused on avian transgenics, and then moved on to an editorial position at BioTechniques. In 2006 Sean joined the staff at the journal Science, eventually becoming the Director and Senior Editor for Custom Publishing.

After almost 20 years in science publishing, Sean left Science to start his own consulting business and pursue his dual passion of professional dog training.
